Here are the instructions for setting up your own practice log. Contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.
To start off, access the source file from this link:
IMPORTANT: MAKE A COPY!
Select file > Make a Copy
Rename the “Copy of Practice Log” file as Practice Log “Your Name” or whatever title you want to give it.
Don’t edit the source file! Close out “Practice Log (MAKE A COPY)” and un-share it if you can, so you don’t mix it up with the new Copy of Practice Log file. If you fill out or edit the source file, it’ll send all of your logs to me (which will be of no use to either of us) and it’ll mess up the file for everyone else that tries to use it.
Go back to the newly named Copy of Practice Log. Click on “choose response destination”.
“New Spreadsheet” should be selected. Hit the “create” button.
A new spreadsheet will now be created that will keep track of you daily logs. Name it whatever you want.
Go back to the newly named Copy of Practice Log. Click on the “send form” button in the upper right hand corner.
Enter in your own email address and click on the “send” button.
You’ll receive an email with a link at the top and the form below.
Copy the link and create a bookmark with it. DON’T FILL OUT THE FORM IN THE EMAIL. USE THE LINK AT THE TOP.
Now, every time you click on the bookmark and fill out the form it’ll create a new log entry in your spreadsheet (including a time and date stamp).
Try it out for a week and tell me what you think!
BONUS: Now that you have your own copy of the form you can also make modifications and try out your own versions. If you figure out something cool that works better than what I’ve put together, let me know.
